Space Between at Milan Design Week

An evolving modular landscape reimagining the hotel lobby as a site of exchange, rhythm, and evolving interaction.

The softened forms contrast with the solidity of the remaining volume, creating a balance between hard and soft, form and function. Individually, the element can be rotated into 24 different orientations. When combined, these shifts generate adjacent forms that naturally encourage engagement. Repeated across a 4x4 grid, the elements form a modular language — capable of assembling into larger, endlessly adaptable spatial compositions.

As a collective, the elements create a landscape that is always in flux —continuously reconfigured by visitors and facilitators in response to changing needs, interactions, and atmospheres. Some configurations invite moments of pause and quiet reflection; others prompt collaboration, conversation, or playful experimentation. Over the course of three days, new spatial narratives emerged. Visitors were also invited to mark the soft surfaces with messages, drawings, or symbols —contributing to the evolving story of the installation through direct interaction.
